About Me
Christopher Jones (known professionally as Christopher Wayland) is a seasoned Actor, Teacher, Writer, and Director with 20 years of professional entertainment industry experience. Originally from Baltimore, MD, he has lived and worked in Chicago for the last 12 years, joining the faculty of CCPA in 2022. While his primary discipline is Acting, he also teaches several Inter-disciplinary and Social Justice theatre courses, and has directed 4 main stage productions.
He received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University and is a Certified Teacher of the Michael Chekhov Technique. He is a proud member of SAG-Aftra, an Actors Equity Membership Candidate, and a member of the Rivendell Theatre Ensemble.
A Joseph Jefferson Award and Black Theatre Alliance Award nominee, in the Chicago area, he has worked at: Goodman Theatre, Court Theatre, Paramount Theatre, Marriott Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, Raven Theatre, First Folio Theatre, 16th Street Theater, Oak Park Festival Theatre, Jackalope Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre, Teatro Vista, Haven, Lifeline Theatre, Stage Left Theatre, and with Right Angle Entertainment. Regionally, he has worked at TheatreWorks, Spotlighters Theatre, Fells Point Corner Theatre, and Baltimore Shakespeare Factory. His television credits includes a recurring role on The Chi (Showtime), Chicago Med (NBC), neXt (FOX), APB (FOX), several documentaries, industrials, and commercials including national campaigns for Kellogg's and Lowe’s.
